What We Hold — DJE Original
18″ x 22″ | Framed Original Art
Bold in contrast and intimate in scale, What We Hold explores the memories, emotions, and experiences we choose to carry with us. A collection of individual forms floats across a softly textured ground, each one framed in deep charcoal as though protecting something significant within.
Vibrant centers of crimson, coral, amber, and burnt orange glow against the quiet ivory and stone background. Each shape is distinct in size and proportion, yet their shared visual language connects them—suggesting individual moments gathered together into a personal archive.
What We Hold reflects on the things we keep close—people, memories, lessons, and moments that become part of who we are. Some carry more weight than others, but together they form a collection uniquely our own.
Framed size: 18 x22

DJE original art is an expression of life’s journeys and relationships, using shapes, patterns, color and texture as a symbolic interpretation of how things felt at the time. Wood, fabric, paint and plaster on canvas are all in play. For DJE, making art is a path for personal understanding and clarity. If the art speaks to you the viewer, if it captures your imagination, raises questions, evokes emotion, one man’s process may enlighten another’s. In this way, art is personal and transcendent.
CUSTOM COMMISSIONS: Art originals are indeed just that: one-of-a-kind creations. Please know, however, that DJE loves personal commissions. Perhaps an already-sold work of art speaks to you. Maybe you’re intrigued by piece, but desire a change in size, palette, material or content. The creative process can even be collaborative with regard to dimensions and color preferences. Where to begin? The custom process starts with an email.
